Tonsillectomy

The tonsils and adenoids are located in the back of throat and work as a defense with your immune system, often catching the bacteria and viruses that enter your nose or mouth. When they become infected, they can cause an obstruction of the airway passage. Chronic infections mayoccur, and if medication treatment is not effective, removal
of the tonsils and/or adenoids may be recommended.
