RONALD POWELL, MD

Ronald Powell, MD, received his medical degree from Indiana University, and went on to complete his residency and fellowship at The University of South Florida. Dr. Powell is double board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine.

Dr. Powell has been caring for The Gastroenterology Center’s patients since 1988, and has been listed in the “Best Doctors of America” since 1996. His clinical interests and specialties include:

• Comprehensive gastroenterology
• IBD such as Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis
• Abdominal Pain
• Altered Bowel Function
• Liver Disease such as Hepatitis and Cirrhosis
• GERD
• Barrett’s Esophagus
• Colorectal cancer screenings

He also has a keen interest in research protocols of the body’s enzymes.

Dr. Powell states he chose to practice gastroenterology, “to treat a wide scope of different problems and afflictions using modern treatment to help patients feel better.”
